Sagada is one of best places in the philippines.

Hey, this is really a great video. I will use it in my blog one of these days if you don't mind. Congrats and keep up the good work :-)

biyahengpinoy said...

hey bill, thank you for the comment, and sure, you can use my sagada video in your blog. i just made the video, but it's really YOU, PEOPLE FROM MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, OWN THIS VIDEO. i really admire your blog and it is very informative. i hope that you will keep on posting so people here in manila and all over the world will know what is really going UP THERE.

Abad said...

Congratulations! I saw the video a few days ago, nakalimutan ko lang mag comment. The video was great, makes me wanna go to Sagada. My family went there a few years back pero i refused to come after hearing that there's gonna be a lot of hiking.

raine said...

hi! i like your video. haven't been here. was wondering if you'd allow me to link your video to a software we're making for children? we'd credit you of course.

jun benavidez, di enough na panoorin mo ang sagada video ko. you have to go there to experience all the things i've been through.

paolo, thanks for the kind words.

:) a friend i met in sagada gave me a copy of the tebag album. siguro i will contact those who make them, para makakuha ng copies those who are interested sa album. i will meet the lead singer ng tebag this friday.

albert dy, no problem.

dan, buti ka pa, maraming beses ka nang pumunta ng sagada. ako, once pa lang. tapos babalik ako don this december. hope to see you there.

abad, yung hiking at walang kapagurang paglalakad, pagsuot sa maliliit na butas, paglangoy, pagakyat, at paggapang talaga ang pinunta ko sa sagada. baka pumunta ako sa lugar ninyo a day before ako umalis papuntang sagada. alam mo namang merong akong MISSION dyan sa tuguegarao.

raine, i will email you once i'm done typing this. :)

Dan said...

There will be a lot of things you can experience and explore (especially baguio - bontoc - sagada). I should know because I'm from baguio, and i always recommend to people i meet in sagada (na galing manila) to try these routes. And by the way, nice music and video.

biyahengpinoy said...

dan, when i went to sagada for the first time, i took the manila-baguio-bontoc-sagada route. then sagada-bontoc-baguio-manila on my way back. i've never been to banaue but i might take the manila-banaue-bontoc-sagada route this december if ever i've decided to go.

i didn't understand the music i've used when i was making this video. i picked "yoga" and san kadwa" from tebag's album because they literally take me back to sagada whenever i close my eyes and listen to them. it was just recently when i met john (saggas' president/founder) that told me that i've picked the right songs for the video. i still don't understand the entire song, but they bring me so much joy and peace whenever i listen to them.

Sidney said...

Wow! Congratulations!
Well deserved! Your a great reporter! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for uploading. The last time I went to Sagada was when I was in highschool. I have great memories. I have been planning to go back and with this feature it might just become a reality.

Again, thank you for this feature.
See you all in SAGADA!

Been in this place two times. Ito ang lugar na masarap balik-balikan. I am now in Europe, where yogurt is the usual food, pero para sa 'kin Yogurt House is the best. And, if ur for adventure, try cave connection.

deegee said...

galing galing mo talaga wencel! i'm so proud of you! :)

sheryl said...

I love the song. where can i get the album of tebag? thanks for sharing this video. =)

biyahengpinoy said...

severino, i'm glad that i've convince you to come back to sagada.

leah, tama ka leah, i've tried yogurt house's banana cinnamon and other unusual flavors. surprisingly, nakakabusog kasi ang dami. i was very satisfied with saggas guides and that's why i've dedicated this video to them.

deegee, i really owe you a lot. thank you for supporting me and believing me all the way.

sheryl, i'm trying to get a hold of a friend that gave me my copy of tebag cd. i will ask him if it's still available and if he can send some to manila.

Greetings,
I'm Ramon Carlos (a cousin of your mayor, Marides, though that should be of no consequence since I have not been in touch with her in years).

I'm heard your music on your Sagada Video on youtube.com and would welcome the chance, as many would, to get the CD for Tebag's music.

That was a very well done video and I will do my best to promote it. I think it would be time to put some Google adsense links on your http://biyahengpinoy.blogspot.com/ site. Good luck. Please let me know how to obtain the music. I look forward to more of your work.
Thanks.

Hi, Wencel. :) If your route was "manila-baguio-bontoc-sagada--bontoc-baguio-manila," ours back in March 2005 was manila-banaue-sagada-baguio-manila. Great option as well, since the bus schedule (sagada-baguio) gave us fantastic views of towns/mountains along Halsema Hi-way (said to be the highest road of the country). Btw, for "1st-time visitors," I'd recommend "DANGWA" as your guide. He's the VETERAN of the lot. And don't let his looks fool you. He's sharp, well-liked/known (can run for local politics), knows the land, and sings too. We felt safe with him especially when we went spelunking in Sumaging Cave. Hope he's in tip-top shape these days. Dangwa was highly-recommended to us by a People's Journal reporter/mountaineer who regularly goes to Banaue & Sagada. Hope to return sometime Dec-Jan to see the sunflowers in full bloom (despite the freezing cold). :)
Another character we met during our trip from Banaue to Sagada >> "Goldilocks," a blond giant of a man (with long, curly hair) based in Singapore (teaching English) who sat on the rooftop of our jeep. Our driver only asked him to get inside when we entered Bontoc. Lucky bastard, had the best seat and view of the entire ride. For those on tight budget, the public market sells cooked brown rice for P10/cup. Whoa, their idea of a cup is equivalent to 2 cups of rice in McDo. I MISS SAGADA. :)

lei said...

yay! goosebumps. went to sagada in 2003 with my friends. sobrang gusto ko tumira don. hope to visit again in the near future...miss ko na.

I've been to Sagda recently lang (Dec 3-5) and it's great ... awesome place for adventures plus the nice views... :) Plus the fact that i've been there for the first time... and alone pa ko... hehe :D what at trip for a girl!

biyahengpinoy said...

pia angeli, thank you for the advice. i was actually thinking of taking that route. i might leave manila tomorrow and go to sagada again. i already have a guide, the same one i met when i was there. i might ask john about DANGWA.

lei, thanks lei for the note. i hope that you'd come visit sagada again.

agnes, sayang di tayo nagkita. i might go to sagada tomorrow, depending on the weather and itinerary. you're a brave girl going to sagada on your one. i also went there alone. but i'm a guy, and you're a girl. galing.

Belene said...

Thanks for uploading your Sagada clips. It means lots to me to keep in touch and see current photos of the place I grew up. During the Holiday Seasons I always get homesick. Thanks again. Belene from Minnesota

Hi Wencel! Sayang we wern't able to meet there... Paulit-ulit kong pinanonood yung video, I really like that place plus ang galing pa ng pagka-kuha mo... Just saw your blogs at http://biyahengpinoy.blogspot.com/ ... and it's really nice to travel in Philippines, I really like to travel but due to time constraints, I'm limited. Sometimes it's nice to travel alone, yoko kc ng maarteng kasama and I'm very free to move. And if I am determined to go to a place, I will go... may kasama o wala. =D I'll be back to that place for Mt. Ampacao pero as a group na before the 1st quarter of 2008 ends ... but I'll go to Marikina muna (lalo akong na-inspired na pumunta dun after I saw ur blogs, I'll ask u sometime next month about going there ha...)!

biyahengpinoy said...

agnes, sayang nga at di tayo nagkita sa sagada. punta kami ng pinsan ko sa sagada uli this dec 24th, so for those who will be there, kita kits tayo. salamat sa panonood mo ng sagada video ko ng paulit-ulit. kakatuwa naman. tama, punta ka rin ng marikina. maganda dito sa bayan namin. :)

belene, i'm glad that you liked the video. please visit sagada soon, instead of just watching it here. :) i hope that i will meet your relatives here in sagada. i will visit sagada very soon.

Just want to congratulate you about these inspiring and educational clips and shots taken from our place- the cordilleras..... your documentary (if I may say so) about our place and culture is really inspiring; this should be an eye opener for those who believed and still believe that we Igorots should have no place in this world...............To you my friend welcome to heaven...................

biyahengpinoy said...

i don't know what to say. you made me speechless. my visit to benguet, kalinga, sagada, bontoc, and other parts of the cordilleras inspired me to make these videos and share them to my igorot brothers, and to the rest of the world. if there is one person that should be thankful for these videos, it should be me. it's a pity that others think that the igorots have no place in this world, but you all will always have a special place in my heart. to you THANKS, thank you for sharing your piece of HEAVEN.
