johnny rockets eastwood

unlimited fries and ketchup with smiles by vena samson

the philippines has finally welcomed another internationally acclaimed hamburger chain that's been loved by the land and seafarers. since 1986, johnny rockets, the home of the "original hamburger".

after its first branch opened at melrose avenue in los angeles, succeeding branches almost everywhere in north america came followed by their worldwide branches in europe and middle east, not to mention their roving branches in the luxurious cruise ships of royal caribbean international. now, their first restaurant in asia is now serving here in the philippines at eastwood mall, libis, quezon city. so if you're craving for a hefty meal, on a hefty payday that's truly worth it, you must visit here. although their meals come in upscale prices, their food is good enough for sharing up to three persons making it just right for its price.

johnny rockets' hamburger patties are a full 1/3 pound of fresh 100% pure beef, seasoned and grilled to order making it juicy and tasty but not oily. their meals are always served with "all-you-can-eat" french fries served fresh and hot in thick slices. you can choose to have onion rings or fresh vegetable salad (with a choice of honey mustard, ranch or thousand island dressing). here are some of the famous line-ups of johnny rockets hamburgers :

bacon cheddar double (p595) has two fresh patties, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato, and white onion that comes with a special sauce perfectly matching its overall taste. personally, this is the heaviest hamburger meal i've ever tried.

route 66 (p465) is named after the famous original u.s. highway, this burger is topped with swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms and grilled onions with mayonnaise. this became one of my favorites.

philly cheese steak (p395) is served on an authentic hoagie roll, this is thinly sliced sirloin steak topped with grilled onions and choice of cheese. you can choose to add grilled bell peppers and onions for an additional cost of p45. i recommend these add-ons because bell peppers are grilled just perfectly, very crisp and its sweetness really compliments the fresh taste of the grilled steak.

streamliner (p465) is the reason why vegetarians have no more excuses not to eat burgers. the streamliner is made of the original meatless boca® burger with grilled onions, lettuce, fresh tomato and pickles, smothered with generous mustard. no more guilt feeling for the health conscious ones.
johnny rockets is also known for their famous shakes and malts which are made with hand-dipped ice cream that's made especially for them.

root beer float (p175) you can also choose any soda pop and root beer. original shakes (p215) comes in hershey's® chocolate, vanilla and strawberry that is very creamy and comes with real fruit bits. deluxe shakes (p265) various flavors to choose from like oreo® cookies and cream, butterfinger®, strawberry-banana, mocha fudge, and chocolate peanut butter. must-have when you visit johnny rockets.

aside from those mentioned above: there are also 3 things that can never be missed during a visit to johnny rockets: 1) their all-american look, jukebox, lovely staffs wearing their theatrical clothes and authentic decors such as 60s-inspired posters and framed photos, and their diner style tables and chairs. 2) their authentic signature smiley ketchup that they serve to all customers. 3) and the dancing staffs strutting to the beat of the oldies every 30 minutes.

johnny rockets serves quality food and service in a friendly, fun and nostalgic atmosphere, with appetizing starters that can truly make you smile. you'll also have an enjoyable side-entertainment that goes with every meal that you order. johnny rockets is located at the ground floor of eastwood mall veranda. store hours at 10am-12am during sunday to thursday, and 10am-2am during fridays and saturdays. their 2nd philippine branch is now open in tomas morato, quezon city and they will be opening their 3rd branch at robinson's galleria very soon. thanks to the wonderful people of johnny rockets eastwood.
